Administrative Inspection of District Jail, Leh

Sh. Navin Agarwal IPS, DG Prisons, J&K with Technical Officer while inspecting progress of construction of new District Jail, Leh

Leh, October 7^th '2011: Sh. Navin Agarwal, Director General of Prisons today visited District Jail Leh and conducted a formal Administrative Inspection.

The DG had a round of barracks, interacted with the inmates and asked tem about the behaviour of the staff and legitimate facilities being provided. The records of the Jail were scrutinized and instructions for improvement, wherever required were given. The Superintendent Jail was asked to engage Jail inmates in vocational and other educational training programmes so that these prisoners can earn livelihood once released from the Jail.

A darbar was also held in which the staff members appraised the Director General of the grievances.

The Director genera was accompanied by the Technical Officer Prisons Headquarter and Staff Officer.
