Prison Duty Meet – 2012 declared open by

Jammu, January 14th '2012: The 5th State Prison Duty Meet – 2012 was declared open by the chief guest Shri B.R. Sharma, IAS Principal Secretary to Government, Home Department, J&K in Central Jail Jammu Kotbhalwal in a very impressive gathering in presence of Shri Navin Agarwal, IPS Director General of Prisons, J&K.
The chief guest emphasized the importance of Prison Duty Meet in his speech and elaborated on various aspects of this Duty Meet and was very appreciative of the work of Prisons Department particularly the programmes of Reformation and Rehabilitation for changing the mindset of the deviated youth.
Director General Prisons Sh. Navin Agarwal, IPS also address on the occasion and elaborated on the purpose of holding State Prison Duty Meet annually. He said during meet we will be observing the professional competence of prison staff, examining their duty related knowledge and creating healthy competition among them. Superintendent Central Jail Kotbhalwal Smt. Rajni Sehgal welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries on the occasion. During the inaugural ceremony the other dignitaries of District Administration, Police and Prisons Department were also present.
44 participants selected from all over the State prisons participating in the events of Essay Competition, Quiz Competition, Problem Solving Competition, First Aid Competition / Hygienic and Health Care Competition, Competition on finding of hidden prisoners and articles, prevention of escape and suicide, and 100 Meter / 800 Meters Race.
